DECEMBER CAMPS

Rock 101

Starting Wednesday, December 6th

Rock 101 is our easy-going and informative beginner-level camp, starting Wednesday, December 6th. In our relaxed, professional and non-judgmental atmosphere you’ll get to learn the basics of being in a band. Over four rehearsals we will introduce you to the basic concepts of playing live music in a group ensemble. Topics covered include: tempo and time signature, song structures and dynamics, band etiquette and proper rehearsal preparation. If you are looking for that perfect starting point to begin your Rock journey, this is what you’ve been waiting for!

Rock 201: ‘Blues Extravaganza’ Camp

Starting Sunday, December 3rd

It’s an end-of-the-year Blues extravaganza! At our Rock 201: ‘Blues Extravaganza’ Camp beginning Sunday, December 3rd you’ll be able to dive into some of the baddest grooves ever laid down with soulful cuts from every era!  We’ll be rocking classic blues from all over, from Chicago to Texas to London!  Saddle up the weepin’ guitar and get blue this December with both retro and modern Blues cuts such as “The Thrill Is Gone” by BB King, “La Grange” by ZZ Top” and “Sunshine of Your Love” by Cream!  This camp concludes with an in-studio VIP performance party on your fourth rehearsal.

Rock 201: The Cars Camp

Starting Wednesday, December 6th

The great sound of New Wave is back at Rock Camp For Dads and will it’ll make you sweat!! Hop in, throw your guitars and synths in the back and buckle up because it’s time to take a ride with our Rock 201: The Cars Camp! Beginning Wednesday, December 6th, you’ll get to play all the 80s hits of this seminal New Wave band, such as “Just What I Needed”, “Let’s Go” and “You Might Think”! Hurry up and hop in, this car is leavin fast! This camp concludes with an in-studio VIP performance party on your fourth rehearsal.

Rock 201: Stevie Ray Vaughan Camp

Starting Thursday, December 7th

Sick of the Minnesota snow? Well how about a Texas flood! Grab your feathered fedora and your paisley shirts because starting Thursday, December 7th we got the electric blues for ya and it’s ready to be served! At our Rock 201: Stevie Ray Vaughan Camp you can have a taste of some double trouble as you rock out to SRV’s rippin classics, such as “Pride and Joy”, “Couldn’t Stand The Weather” and “Life Without You”. This camp does not conclude with a plane ride, just your own private in-studio VIP performance party for your friends and family on your fourth rehearsal.

Rock 301: 2017 Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame Inductees Camp

Starting Monday, December 4th

It was such a success last year, we thought we’d do it again! Take a trip to the most Rock n’ Roll city in America: Cleveland, home of the Rock n’ Roll hall of Fame! Starting Monday, December 4th, at our Rock 301: 2017 Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame Inductees Camp you’ll be able to play the greatest hits from this year’s inductees into the hall of fame that celebrates the greatest artists in rock! Plug in a give a tip of the hat to the classics to the ’17 rock honorees, such as “Any Way You Want It” by Journey, “Mr. Blue Sky” by ELO and “Owner of a Lonely Heart” by Yes. This camp concludes with a gig at Bunkers on January 6th.

Rock 301: Tom Petty Camp

Starting Tuesday, December 5th

Tune up your Rickenbackers, it’s time to pay tribute to the man who was a modern national treasure: Tome Petty. At our Rock 301: Tom Petty Camp beginning Tuesday, December 5th you’ll be able to celebrate the legendary rocker’s life and the gift of song he gave to the world. Plug in and remember the magic he brought us for nearly 40 years, playing some of his most beloved tracks including “The Waiting”, “You Wreck Me” and “Don’t Do Me Like That”. This camp concludes with a gig at Bunkers on January 6th.

Rock 301: AC/DC Camp

Starting Tuesday, December 5th

In memory of the great Malcolm Young, RCFD will give you a chance to pay tribute to the guitar sound that set the standard for rock n’ roll thereafter!  At our Rock 301: AC/DC Camp beginning Tuesday, December 5th you’ll be able to grab your Gibson SG and pump it as loud as it can go!  If you like your music loud, fast, and with shaking you all night long, get in on it! The spirit of rock will live on with this one as you crank out AC/DC classics as “If You Want Blood (You’ve Got It)”, “Whole Lotta Rosie” and “Let There Be Rock”!  This camp concludes with a gig at Bunkers on January 6th.

Rock 301: Styx Camp

Starting Thursday, December 7th

You know what they say: “Styx and stones may break your bones but this camp is gonna rock you!” At our Rock 301: Styx Camp beginning Thursday, December 7th, you¹ll be able to rock the sprawling epics and bombastic choruses that made Styx legends in the 70s and 80s! Grab your guitars and gear up your falsettos for all the smash hits of Styx such as “Too Much Time On My Hands”, “Lorelei” and “Rockin The Paradise”. This camp concludes with a gig at Bunkers on January 6th.

Jamshop: Acoustic/Country

 Starting Saturday, December 9th

Looking for a little more Mojo on the weekends? Why not give Jamshop a try! The JamShop, beginning Saturday, December 9th, is aimed at all levels of musicians who are interested in getting together, during the weekend, to play in a casual, laid back and collaborative environment, focused on fun Saturday morning jammin! The December Jamshop will have an Acoustic/Country theme, so come on down and countrify yer mornin’, partner!

Rock 101

Rock 201: ’70s Sunset Strip’

Starting Sunday, January 7th

Put the Cadillac on cruise control, flip the top down and get ready to coast down the ‘Strip! At our Rock 201: 70s Sunset Strip Camp beginning Sunday, January 7th, you’ll be able to groove to all the shmello 70s hits and ballads from that legendary locale! Put down your cares, pick up your sunglasses and take a stroll–day or night—as you relish in the smooth sounds! You’ll be able to plug in, harmonize and rock to such easy-going classics as “Running On Empty” by Jackson Brown, “One of These Nights” by the Eagles and “Oh Well” by Fleetwood Mac. This camp concludes with an in-studio VIP performance party on your fourth rehearsal.

Rock 201: Nu-Metal Camp

Starting Wednesday, January 10th

Put on your Adidas outfit, flip out the ‘dreads, tune down the 7-string and get ready to growl! We’ve bottled the angst of the late 90s and early 00s and we’re ready to serve it up! At our Rock 201: Nu-Metal Camp beginning Wednesday, January 10th you’ll be able to go full throttle on the most wicked cuts that revamped metal at the turn of the century! Metalic riffs, heavy beats, and singers not ashamed to rap: we got it all and we did it so you can get that cookie! Amp up your adrenaline and headbang to such Nu-Metal cuts as “Chop Suey!” by System Of A Down, “Freak On A Leash” by KoRn and “Duality” by Slipknot. This camp concludes with an in-studio VIP performance party on your fourth rehearsal.

Rock 201: Buzz Ballads Camp

Starting Thursday, July 11th

Lightning crashes, a new mother cries… If you remember the 90s, then you remember some buzz ballads! At our Rock 201: Buzz Ballads Camp beginning Thursday, January 11th, you can rock the killer tracks that added some sensitivity in the 90s angst! Get ready because we got the anthems that showed that even the best grunge rocker can unplug a bit. Whip out your Les Pauls and your lighters for such classics as “Hey Jealousy” by Gin Blossoms, “Iris” by Goo Goo Dolls and “Closing Time” by Semisonic. . This camp concludes with an in-studio VIP performance party on your fourth rehearsal.

Rock 301: Cream/Yardbirds Camp

Starting Monday, January 8th

We got the camp that will get your Disraeli gears going, for your love of the electric Blues! At our Rock 301: Cream/Yardbirds Camp beginning Monday, January 8th, you’ll be able to celebrate the work of those British rockers who took the American Blues, electrified it, and made it their own! Plug-in and recall what made Jimmy Page a legend and Eric Clapton a god! Speed up your slowhands with such classic tracks as “Shapes Of Things” by The Yardbirds, “White Room” by Cream and “For Your Love” by The Yardbirds. This camp concludes with a gig at Bunkers on February 3rd.

Rock 301: Timelines – Bruce Springsteen

Starting Monday, January 8th

That’s right, RCFD’s “Timelines” camp series is back!!! This time around, we pay tribute to the three distinct eras of The Boss. At our Rock 301: Timelines – Bruce Springsteen Camp beginning Monday, January 8th we’ll see if you were either born to run or born in the USA, as we explore Bruce Springsteen’s wide breadth of work through four decades. From his early greetings from Asbury Park, to his glory days in the 80s to his more recent work in the 90s and beyond, you’ll cover em all and sing the songs of everyman! Tune your telecaster and tip the sax player, get ready to rock such Springsteen staples as “Blinded By The Light”, “Glory Days” and “The Rising”. This camp concludes with a gig at Bunkers on February 3rd.

Rock 301: Alanis Morissette Camp

Starting Tuesday, January 9th

Who’s ready to take a jagged little pill to the voice that rocked a million Walkmans in the 90s?! At our Rock 301: Alanis Morissette Camp beginning Tuesday, January 9th, you can put one hand in your pocket while the other one churns out some of the biggest rock and pop anthems of the 90s! Debate what is or is not ironic with such classic Alanis hits as “You Oughta Know”, “You Learn” and “Ironic”. This camp concludes with a gig at Bunkers on February 3rd.

Rock 301: Build-Your-Own Camp – Pink Floyd

Starting Thursday, January 11th

If you are a band of five Rock Moms or Dads who think it’s about time to get out of the garage and do some serious damage, we have the opportunity for you! You provide the musicians and songs, we’ll provide the studio and attentive one-one-one assistance from one of our awesome Instructors to help you be the best band you can be! Top it off with your very own slot at our Bunkers gig on February 3rd, RCFD’s Build-Your-Own Camp option is a great way to whip your ideal band into shape!

Open positions:  This “Pink Floyd” Build-Your-Own-Camp is currently full but Contact Denise today to schedule your own Rock 101, 201 or 301 camp space!

Jamshop: Blues

 Starting Saturday, January 13th

Looking for a little more Mojo on the weekends? Why not give Jamshop a try! These camp positions are all first come first serve, so act fast and get the camp you want! Click on the position you want in the camp of your choice to put down your deposit. This will secure your spot. Also, if you’re a guitar player who wants to try his or her hand at something different, try signing up for a bass position for one of our 101 or 201 camps and try something new! It’s a great way to branch out into a new instrument! Heck, you already know the basics!
