Rock 101 is our easy-going and informative beginner-level camp, beginning Wednesday, October 4th.  In our relaxed, professional and non-judgmental atmosphere you’ll get to learn the basics of being in a band. Over four rehearsals we will introduce you to the basic concepts of playing live music in a group ensemble.  Topics covered include: tempo and time signature, song structures and dynamics, band etiquette and proper rehearsal preparation.  If you are looking for that perfect starting point to begin your Rock journey, this is what you’ve been waiting for!

Rock 201: Farm Aid – 2017

Starting Sunday, October 1st

Did you miss FARM AID 2017 last weekend? Well worry not, this month’s FLASHCAMP is ROCK 201: FARM AID – 2017, beginning Sunday, October 1st! It¹s time to travel down to the Heartland and jam out to the legendary tracks of the artists appearing at this year’s legendary Farm Aid benefit concert! What better way to support your Midwest family farms than rocking the songs that supported them as well! Plug-in and celebrate the old homestead with some down home jams! You¹ll be able to get your 201 audience rockin to such classics as “Whiskey River” by Willie Nelson, “ROCK in the USA” by John Mellencamp and “The Space Between” by The Dave Mathews Band! This camp concludes with an in-studio performance party during your fourth rehearsal.

Rock 201: Elvis Costello Camp

Starting Wednesday, October 4th

Is your aim true? Are you ready for ‘this year’s model?’ At our Rock 201: Elvis Costello Camp beginning Wednesday, October 4th, you’ll be able to rock the hits of the groundbreaking new wave singer/songwriter Elvis Costello! Put on your Buddy Holly glasses and plug in your Fender Jazzmaster, rip the hits that were cutting edge in the late 70s and early 80s, such as “Alison”, “Radio Radio” and “Pump It Up”! This camp concludes with an in-studio performance party during your fourth rehearsal.

Rock 201: The Last Waltz Camp

Starting Thursday, October 5th

It’s time to take a load off, Fanny! At our Rock 201: Last Waltz Camp beginning Thursday, October 5th, you¹ll be able to play the hits of the classic 60s & 70s rockers who were featured in the legendary concert film The Last Waltz, such as The Band, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Eric Clapton, Butterfield Blues Band and Van Morrison! Cut a lick like Robbie Robertson, or kick up a snazzy beat like Levon Helm! Join the literal Band and play such classics as “The Weight”, “Up on Cripple Creek” and Neil Young’s “Hey Hey My My”. This camp concludes with an in-studio performance party during your fourth rehearsal.

Rock 301: Build-Your-Own Camp – “Muse”

Starting Monday, October 2nd

If you are a band of five Rock Moms or Dads who think it’s about time to get out of the garage and do some serious damage, we have the opportunity for you! You provide the musicians and songs, we’ll provide the studio and attentive one-one-one assistance from one of our awesome Instructors to help you be the best band you can be! Top it off with your very own slot at our gig at Famous Dave’s on October 28th, RCFD’s Build-Your-Own Camp option is a great way to whip your ideal band into shape!

Open positions: This “Muse/Radiohead” Build-Your-Own-Camp is currently full but Contact Denise today to schedule your own Rock 101, 201 or 301 camp space!

Rock 301: 70s POP CAMP

Starting Tuesday, October 3rd

What was the best decade for Pop?  We all know it was the 1970s!  At our Rock 301: 70s Pop Camp beginning Tuesday, October 3rd, you’ll be able to shake yer booty and ‘have a nice day’ to all the Pop gems of the 70s!  Plug in a groove, to sich pop nuggets as “Bennie and The Jets” by Elton John, “Pina Colada Song” by Rupert Holmes and “Ebony Eyes” by Bob Walsh!  This camp concludes with a spot at our gig at Famous Dave’s on October 28th.

Rock 301: KISS Camp

Starting Tuesday, October 3rd

Are you ready? We have the most fire-breathing, tongue-wagging band to hit the stage! All you creatures of the night¹ will get to show your charisma at our Rock 301: KISS Camp beginning Tuesday, October 3rd! Grab you face paint, because you¹ll get to play the legendry hard rock of the band who invented the rock-spectacle, such as “Shout It Out Loud”, “Strutter” and “Calling Dr. Love”! This camp concludes with a spot at our gig at Famous Dave’s on October 28th.

Rock 301: “Rocky Horror Picture Show” Camp

Starting Thursday, October 5th

I would like, if I may, to take you on a strange journey… It’s time to get out the confetti, rice and toast and do the Time Warp! At our Rock 301: ‘Rocky Horror Picture Show’ Camp beginning Thursday, October 5th, you can be pretty groovy , come up to the lab and see what’s on the slab! Let the antici… …pation build as you rock the legendary songs from the legendary cult classic film, The Rocky Horror Picture Show! You won’t be afraid of the audience (or what they might throw at you!), you’ll be too busy playing such songs as “Time Warp”, “Sweet Transvestite” and “Hot Patootie – Bless My Soul”. This camp concludes with a spot at our gig at Famous Dave’s on October 28th.

Jamshop: Blues

 Starting Saturday, October 7th

Looking for a little more Mojo on the weekends? Why not give Jamshop a try! The JamShop, beginning Saturday, October 7th, is aimed at all levels of musicians who are interested in getting together, during the weekend, to play in a casual, laid back and collaborative environment, focused on fun Saturday morning jammin! The October Jamshop will have a Blues theme, so come on down and make your Saturday blue!!

Open positions: BASS, DRUMS, VOCALS

These camp positions are all first come first serve, so act fast and get the camp you want! Click on the position you want in the camp of your choice to put down your deposit. This will secure your spot. Also, if you’re a guitar player who wants to try his or her hand at something different, try signing up for a bass position for one of our 101 or 201 camps and try something new! It’s a great way to branch out into a new instrument! Heck, you already know the basics!
