JULY CAMPS

Jamshop: Blues

Starting Saturday, July 14th
Looking for a little more Mojo on the weekends? Why not give Jamshop a try! The JamShop, beginning Saturday, July 14th, is aimed at all levels of musicians who are interested in getting together, during the weekend, to play in a casual, laid back and collaborative environment, focused on fun Saturday morning jammin! The July Jamshop will have a Blues theme, so come on down and make yer Saturday morning blue!

Music Theory 101

Starting Tuesday, July 10th

Ready to know the secret of music? At our Music Theory 101 Camp beginning Tuesday, July 10th, we will spend time focusing on how to communicate about music and use the math of music to maximize your expressive potential! We will focus on common chord progressions, such as “I-V-vi-IV” and “V-IV-I”, and how they’ve been used in some of your favorite songs like “Let It Be” and “Sweet Home Alabama”. Through this, we will touch on how key signatures and scales operate, the basics of chord theory, and highlight the modes and runs that will be useful in your soloing and writing experience. This 101 camp is open to all levels of campers from beginners who want to learn the “12 bar blues” to seasoned alumni who are interested in fine tuning their soloing skills!

Rock 201: CCR & Bayou BBQ Camp

Starting Wednesday, July 11th

We¹re inviting you to take a trip down to a shady swamp for our Rock 201: Creedence Clearwater Revival & Bayou BBQ Camp, beginning Wednesday, July 11th.  Don’t forget your mud boots at this jam because it’s gonna get dirty!  Grab your geetars and jam on the CCR and John Fogerty hits you know and love such as Born On The Bayou”, “Fortunate Son” and “Have You Ever Seen the Rain”.  Close out your camp with a very special summer Bayou BBQ at RCFD HQ on Friday, August 3rd, where we’ll be cooking up some gumbo to grub on!

Rock 201: Steve Miller Camp

Starting Thursday, July 12th

Do some people call you the space cowboy?  Or do you just go by Maurice?  At our Rock 201: Steve Miller Camp beginning Thursday, July 12th, you¹ll be able to speak the pompitous of love and rock all of the Steve Miller Band¹s greatest tracks!  Grab a guitar and get ready to wind down and jam to such classics as “Jet Airliner”, “Swingtown” and “Rock’n Me”.  This camp concludes with an in-studio VIP performance for your invited friends and family on your fourth rehearsal.

Rock 301: Minneapolis Alt-Rock

Starting Monday, July 9th

Check yourself into a ‘soul asylum’ in the greatest city for local music: The Twin Cities! At our Rock 301: Minneapolis Alt-Rock Camp, beginning Monday, July 9th, you’ll be able to jam out to the classic tunes that put Minneapolis on the Alt-Rock map ! Mix your acoustics and electrics in the home of the Cherry Spoon Bridge, to the style of the bands that defined the Snowy Apple in the late 80s and early 90s! Plug in and rock to such classics as “Left of the Dial” by The Replacements, “Totally Nude” by The Wallets and “Cows” by The Suburbs! This camp concludes with a spot at our July Camps Gig on August 4th.

Rock 301: Build-Your-Own Camp – Abbey Road

Starting Monday, July 9th

If you are a band of five Rock Moms or Dads who think it’s about time to get out of the garage and do some serious damage, we have the opportunity for you! You provide the musicians and songs, we’ll provide the studio and attentive one-one-one assistance from one of our awesome Instructors to help you be the best band you can be! Top it off with your very own slot at our July Camps Showcase on August 4th, RCFD’s Build-Your-Own Camp option is a great way to whip your ideal band into shape!

Open positions: This “Abbey Road” Build-Your-Own-Camp is currently full but Contact Denise today to schedule your own Rock 101, 201 or 301 camp space!

Rock 301: Build-Your-Own Camp – Rock

Starting Tuesday, July 10th

If you are a band of five Rock Moms or Dads who think it’s about time to get out of the garage and do some serious damage, we have the opportunity for you! You provide the musicians and songs, we’ll provide the studio and attentive one-one-one assistance from one of our awesome Instructors to help you be the best band you can be! AUGUST CAMPS

Rock 101

Starting Wednesday, August 8th

Rock 101 is our easy-going and informative beginner-level camp, beginning Wednesday, August 8th. In our relaxed, professional and non-judgmental atmosphere you’ll get to learn the basics of being in a band. Over four rehearsals we will introduce you to the basic concepts of playing live music in a group ensemble. Topics covered include: tempo and time signature, song structures and dynamics, band etiquette and proper rehearsal preparation. If you are looking for that perfect starting point to begin your Rock journey, this is what you’ve been waiting for!

Rock Camp Rewind Festival

Starting the week of Monday, August 6th

Are you an RCFD Alumni who was in a pretty awesome camp which came and went? Do you want a second shot at the greatness and fun? Our Rock Camp Rewind is a great way to relive the fun of Rock Camp For Dads if you thought your camp deserved an encore! Priced at our standard 301 Camp rate, the Rock Camp Rewind is open to ALL former 201 or 301 Rock Camps predating May 2018. With rehearsals beginning the week of August 6th, this camp includes four more rehearsal sessions with personalized instruction to further hone your setlist, performance and band dynamics! The Rock Camp Rewind concludes with a spot on our epic Rock Camp Rewind Festival on Saturday, September 8th at Route 47! Don’t miss your chance for a Rock Camp Rewind and let the rock live on!

Full-bands must submit as a group to Denise at Denise@rockcampfordads.com for consideration for Rock Camp Rewind. Space is limited to eight bands.

These camp positions are all first come first serve, so act fast and get the camp you want! Click on the position you want in the camp of your choice to put down your deposit. This will secure your spot. Also, if you’re a guitar player who wants to try his or her hand at something different, try signing up for a bass position for one of our 101 or 201 camps and try something new! It’s a great way to branch out into a new instrument! Heck, you already know the basics!
