FEBRUARY CAMPS

Rock 101

Starting Wednesday, February 7th

Rock 101 is our easy-going and informative beginner-level camp, beginning Wednesday, February 7th. In our relaxed, professional and non-judgmental atmosphere you’ll get to learn the basics of being in a band. Over four rehearsals we will introduce you to the basic concepts of playing live music in a group ensemble. Topics covered include: tempo and time signature, song structures and dynamics, band etiquette and proper rehearsal preparation. If you are looking for that perfect starting point to begin your Rock journey, this is what you’ve been waiting for!

Rock 201: Songwriting Camp – “Creating The Song”

Starting Tuesday, February 6th

If you dream of taking your music beyond the shower, we have the opportunity for you! In our Rock 201: Songwriting Camp – “Creating The Song” beginning Tuesday, February 6th, you’ll get to take your musical ideas and lyrical fragments and organize them into actual songs! Led by a knowledgeable producer and songwriter, our instructor will conduct a hands-on woodshop of your rough ideas and turn your heart’s thoughts into fully-formed songs, creating lead sheets and brainstorming actual musical accompaniment for a full band! This camp will conclude with an in-studio VIP acoustic performance of your completed songs on your fourth rehearsal.

Rock 201: Americana Camp

Starting Wednesday, February 7th

Saddle up the acoustics and dish out the whiskey jugs; it’s time for a down home Americana jam session! At our Rock 201: Americana Camp beginning Wednesday, February 7th, you’ll be able to rock your roots and celebrate the jams that could only exist from the mixin’ up of Rock and the great American heritage! Get your stompin boots on and don’t mind that banjo, at this camp you’ll be rockin back-porch style to the classic and modern cuts that defined the Americana genre! Put on that capo and strum along to such Americana tracks as “Tennessee Whisky” by Chris Stapleton, “The Cave” by Mumford & Sons and “Switchblade” by Roger Clyne & The Peacemakers.

Rock 201: ‘Irish Rock’ Camp

Starting Sunday, February 18th

We had such a grand ‘ol time last year, RCFD is going green once again! At our Rock 201: Irish Rock Camp beginning Sunday, February 18th, you’ll get to plug-in your guitars and pin on your four leaf clovers as you rock to the hits of the best rockers from Ireland! Wash your rock n’ roll down with some Jameson and Guinness as you jam to such classic Irish Rock tunes as “Seven Deadly Sins” by Flogging Molly, “A Pair of Brown Eyes” by The Pogues and “Foggy Dew” by The Young Dubliners. This camp concludes with an opening slot for St. George’s Folly at The Pourhouse on St. Patrick’s Day.

Rock 301: Lenny Kravitz Camp

Starting Monday, February 5th

Do you want to get away? Do you want to Flyyyyyyy Awaaaaaaaayyyy, yeeeeahhhh yeeeeahhh yeeeeeaaahhh? Well now you can at our Rock 301: Lenny Kravitz Camp beginning Monday, February 5th! Let your dreadlocks flow as you cut some killer riffs from Lenny Kravitz, the legendary rocker who mixed hard rock, blues, funk and R&B into his own brand of cool in the 1990s! Plug your Flying V in and rock such classic Lenny Kravitz gems as “Are You Gonna Go My Way”, “Fly Away” and “Always On The Run”. This camp concludes with a spot on our February Showcase on March 3rd.

Rock 301: Build-Your-Own-Camp – Radiohead

Starting Monday, February 5th

If you are a band of five Rock Moms or Dads who think it’s about time to get out of the garage and do some serious damage, we have the opportunity for you! You provide the musicians and songs, we’ll provide the studio and attentive one-one-one assistance from one of our awesome Instructors to help you be the best band you can be! Top it off with your very own slot at our February Showcase on March 3rd, RCFD’s Build-Your-Own Camp option is a great way to whip your ideal band into shape!

Rock 301: 80s Pop Camp

Starting Tuesday, February 6th

Shoulder pads! Parachute pants!? Members Only jacket!?? We have all the 80s references you can handle at our Rock 301: 80s Pop Camp beginning Tuesday, February 6th! Dial up the perfect synth sound and add some reverb to your snare, it¹s time to dance! You can shake your booty to such 80s pop hits as “Lips Like Sugar” by Echo & The Bunnymen, “Tempted” by Squeeze and “Don’t You Forget About Me” by Simple Minds . This camp concludes with a spot on our February Showcase on March 3rd.

Rock 301: Heartbreakers Camp

Starting Thursday, February 8th

Valentine’s Day, schmalentines day! If you’re a lonely soul sick of all that luvy-duvy dreck, we got just the camp for you! At our Rock 301: Heartbreakers Camp beginning Thursday, February 8th, you can let your woeful heart bleed about the him or her that destroyed it! Plug-in and ruminate with all your favorite songs of heartbreak, the classic anti-love songs as “Love Hurts” by Nazareth, “Love Stinks” by the J. Geils Band and “Love Is A Battlefield” by Pat Benetar. This camp concludes with a spot on our February Showcase on March 3rd.

Jamshop: Classic Rock

 Starting Saturday, February 10th

Looking for a little more Mojo on the weekends? Why not give Jamshop a try! The JamShop, beginning Saturday, February 10th, is aimed at all levels of musicians who are interested in getting together, during the weekend, to play in a casual, laid back and collaborative environment, focused on fun Saturday morning jammin! The February Jamshop will have a Classic Rock theme, so come on down and spread some ‘jam’ on yer mornin’!

Rock 201: ‘Pioneers of Rock’ Camp

Starting Sunday, March 4th

A wop-bop-a-loo-mop a lop-bom-bom!!! At our Rock 201: ‘Pioneers of Rock’ Camp beginning Sunday, March 4th, you cool cats can get shake a tail feather with the essential artists that literally created our favorite genre! All it took was a C, F, G and a little heart and soul! Take a stroll through time and rock the songs that founded Rock in the 1950s, such as “Heartbreak Hotel” by Elvis Presley, “Johnny B. Goode” by Chuck Berry and “Peggy Sue” by Buddy Holly! This camp concludes with an in-studio VIP performance for your invited friends and family on your fourth rehearsal.

Rock 201: Nirvana Camp

Starting Tuesday, March 6th

Take a deep breath… do you smell something? It smells like… Teen Spirit! At our Rock 201: Nirvana Camp starting Tuesday, March 6th, you’ll be able to play the grunge anthems of the band that changed modern music in the 90s! Grab your flannel, crank that DS-1 distortion pedal and rock to such Nirvana classics as “Lithium”, “All Apologies” and “Sliver”! This camp concludes with an in-studio VIP performance for your invited friends and family on your fourth rehearsal.

Rock 201: Bob Marley Camp

Starting Thursday, March 8th

It’s time to get up, stand up… stand up for your rights! At our Rock 201: Bob Marley Camp beginning Thursday, March 8th, you’ll be able to light it up—I’m talking about your guitar playing, of course!—and rock the tunes of the ground breaking Reggae icon Bob Marley! You can either be wailin’ or jammin’ (or maybe a bit of both) to such classic Bob Marley anthems as “No Woman No Cry”, “I Shot The Sheriff” and “Could You be Loved”. This camp concludes with an in-studio VIP performance for your invited friends and family on your fourth rehearsal.

Rock 301: Build-Your-Own-Camp – Lynyrd Skynyrd

You provide the musicians and songs, we’ll provide the studio and attentive one-one-one assistance from one of our awesome Instructors to help you be the best band you can be! Top it off with your very own slot at our March Showcase at Bunkers on March 31st, RCFD’s Build-Your-Own Camp option is a great way to whip your ideal band into shape!

Rock 301: The Modern Blues

Starting Tuesday, March 6th

From Chicago to Memphis, from Kansas City to St. Louis—The Blues rules! But it ain’t just all about the past, The Blues is still goin’ strong! At our Rock 301: Modern Blues Camp beginning Tuesday, March 6th, you’ll get to lay some licks down and bust a boogie to some of the best current blues cuts! Grab a bottle and get ‘blue to such future-standards as “Mountain Climbing” by Joe Bonamassa, “Boogie Man” by Eric Gales and “Lie To Me” by Johnny Lang! This camp concludes with a spot on our March Showcase at Bunkers on March 31st.

You provide the musicians and songs, we’ll provide the studio and attentive one-one-one assistance from one of our awesome Instructors to help you be the best band you can be! Top it off with your very own slot at our March Showcase at Bunkers on March 31st, RCFD’s Build-Your-Own Camp option is a great way to whip your ideal band into shape!

Jamshop: Acoustic/Country

 Starting Saturday, March 10th

The March Jamshop will have an Acoustic/Country theme, so come on down and countrify yer mornin’!

These camp positions are all first come first serve, so act fast and get the camp you want! Click on the position you want in the camp of your choice to put down your deposit. This will secure your spot. Also, if you’re a guitar player who wants to try his or her hand at something different, try signing up for a bass position for one of our 101 or 201 camps and try something new! It’s a great way to branch out into a new instrument! Heck, you already know the basics!
